    FAQ

Does it work from a finished video?
Yes. Import a video file and StoryFolder detects the shots from the rendered frames and transcripts from the audio waveform.
    Is the timecode SMPTE?
No. It is elapsed HH:MM:SS,mmm from the first frame of the file, so a master beginning at 01:00:00:00 needs that hour added outside the app.
    Can the spreadsheet contain thumbnails?
Yes, on Pro. Switch Images on in the same export or the Frame and Filename columns are not written.
What files does one export create?
The shot-list task writes Shot List.xlsx and Shot List.csv together. Optional tasks add a PNG and an MP4 per shot, Storyboard.pdf, and the transcript and subtitle files.
Can it export EDL, XML, AAF or FCPXML?
No, and it imports none of them either. Use a timeline reporting tool when the recipient needs reel, source timecode or handles.
Will detection find fast cuts, dissolves and motion blurs?
The algorithm is tuned but may struggle with gradual transitions or chaotic visuals. Use the sensitivity slider to discover more or fewer shots and fine-tune using the split and join tools.
Which field types can I add?
Text, Tag, Dropdown, Checkbox, Rating and Number. Creating custom fields is a Pro feature.
What does the free plan cover?
The storyboard PDF, images and per-shot clips, with a watermark, plus transcription and its exports. Spreadsheet export and custom fields are Pro.
