Does StoryFolder estimate what a production will cost?

No. It counts shots by the labels you apply and reports shot durations; the pricing happens in your estimating system.

Can a client leave comments on a published board?

No. The published board is view-only in all three layouts, with no player for a local-file source, so you record the feedback that arrives by email, message or call.

Does it manage our storage?

No. It indexes the videos you import and never tracks drives, ingests media, or makes proxies for your NLE.

Can it export EDL, XML, AAF or FCPXML?

No. The exports are documents and media: XLSX, CSV, Storyboard PDF, stills, per-shot clips, and transcript formats including SRT and WebVTT.

Which AI work runs on my computer?

Transcription does, in a hundred languages, free. AI Autofill sends frames to StoryFolder's server and a hosted vision model, and requires Pro.

Which desktop systems does it run on?

macOS on Apple silicon or Intel, and Windows x64. There is no Linux build and no sync between machines.

What do I get without paying?

Transcription and its exports, the storyboard PDF, images and per-shot clips. Custom fields, the spreadsheet export, Statistics, password-protected links and AI Autofill are Pro.
