    FAQ

    Does StoryFolder scan a whole drive?
    No. It indexes the videos you import, one per drop, and never crawls a folder or a volume.
    Can one search cover every project?
    Yes. From the library root the box matches your fields and the transcript across every video in the library, grouped by the video that owns each result.
    Can I type a client name into the search box?
    Yes. The box reads Text, Dropdown, Tag and Number fields on the video and on the shot, plus titles and transcripts, and the Client filter chip narrows the same results.
    Does this replace a MAM?
    No. There is no storage management, ingest automation, shared storage, NLE proxy workflow or sync between machines.
    What is still there when the drive is unplugged?
    Cached frames, your fields and the transcript, so the board still browses and the spreadsheet still exports. Anything that needs the original waits for Locate File….
    Can I share a Collection?
    No. A collection is a hand-picked set of shots you browse inside the desktop app, and it cannot be exported or published.
