Search & filters
You can quickly narrow your storyboard down to just the shots you care about — by what's written in their notes, whether they're favorited, or whether they're hidden.
How do I search my notes?
- Click the search field in the top-left of the editor (or press /).
- Type any word or phrase.
- The storyboard live-updates to show only shots whose notes contain your query.
The match is case-insensitive and scans across every note field — both default and custom.
What kinds of searches work?
- Single word.
lensfinds every shot with "lens" anywhere in its notes. - Phrase.
low key lightingfinds shots that contain that exact phrase. - Empty. Clear the field to bring all shots back.
There's no boolean (AND / OR / NOT) syntax — keep it short.
Can I filter by tags or dropdown values?
Yes. Type the tag or dropdown option in the search field. For example, if you have a Camera dropdown with a value of Drone, typing drone will surface every shot tagged that way.
Can I combine search with favorites or hidden?
Yes. The three filters stack:
- Type a search term.
- Toggle ♥ Favorites to limit to favorited shots.
- Toggle 👁 Hidden to include or exclude hidden shots.
The shot count next to the search field shows how many shots survived all active filters.
How do I clear all filters at once?
Clear the search field and turn off the favorites toggle. Shots return to their full list.
Does search affect exports and shares?
- Exports include only the currently visible shots — so an active search will narrow your export. This is great when you want to PDF-export just the "drone" shots, for example. Clear the search if you want a full export.
- Share links publish whatever's currently visible. To share the full storyboard, clear filters before publishing.
