Quick filters
A quick filter is a saved search. It stores the question, not the answer, so its results are worked out fresh every time you arrive.
Quick filters are free on every plan.
What exactly does a quick filter save?
Three things, together:
- The typed query in the search box.
- The filter chips you built.
- The card appearance — how the results are laid out.
A query with no chips is enough to save on its own.
How do I save one?
- Build the view you want: type a query, add filter chips, set the layout.
- Click Save as quick filter on the chip bar. It appears as soon as there's anything to save.
- Name it after the question it answers, not what it currently contains.
It becomes a row in the rail under Quick filters, with its own address.
What happens when I open one?
Arriving puts the query back in the box, applies the chips and applies the layout. Leaving puts your own view back — a quick filter is a place you visit, not a state that follows you around.
If you change the query, the chips or the layout while you're there, the bar offers Save quick filter changes. Leave it alone and nothing is saved.
Do results update as my metadata changes?
Yes. Results are recomputed on arrival, so a shot that has since earned the rating you filtered on is simply there, and one that lost it is simply gone.
That's the difference from a collection, which stores the shots themselves and doesn't move.
What are quick filters good for?
The questions you keep re-asking. Filter to a client, then to the shot type you're auditing, then save it — next time that question comes up it's one click.
Two things make it trustworthy in practice: the result count, which tells you straight away whether the filter is doing what you think, and the reason line on each result, which tells you why a particular shot is in front of you.
How do I rename or delete one?
Double-click the rail row to rename it in place; right-click for the rest. Deleting asks first and never deletes a video.
