Shot list spreadsheet Pro
Spreadsheets are great for analysis, planning, and scheduling. A shot list export turns your storyboard into a structured table — one row per shot, one column per note field.
Spreadsheet export is available on the Pro and Business plans.
How do I export a spreadsheet?
- Press X to open the Export view.
- Set your destination folder.
- Toggle Shot list / Spreadsheet on.
- Click Add to Queue.
- The result is a
.xlsxfile you can open in Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets.
What columns are included?
Each row is one shot or merged section. Built-in columns:
- Shot Number
- Start Time (HH:MM:SS.mmm)
- End Time (HH:MM:SS.mmm)
- Duration (seconds)
- Frames (start–end)
- Favorited (true/false)
Then every visible note field appears as a column — both the default fields and any custom fields you've created.
Can I control which columns appear?
Yes. Toggle the Notes & Data Fields menu in the editor before you export, and untick any field you don't want as a column. Hidden fields aren't included.
What format are the columns for tags and dropdowns?
- Dropdown values appear as the single chosen option (e.g. Close-up).
- Tag values are comma-separated within a single cell (e.g. Drone, Daylight, Wide).
- Checkbox values are
TRUE/FALSE.
This makes it easy to filter or pivot in Excel.
Can I import the spreadsheet back into StoryFolder?
Not yet. The shot list export is one-way. We're working on round-tripping.
What about CSV?
The current export format is .xlsx. To get CSV, open the file in Excel or Sheets and use Save As → CSV.
Why isn't this option available?
If the toggle is greyed out and shows an upgrade prompt, you're on the Free or Basic plan. See Compare plans to upgrade.
