Image export
Sometimes you need the raw images themselves — for a slide deck, a moodboard, a Notion doc, or a design comp. Image export gives you one file per shot.
How do I export images?
- Press X to open the Export view.
- Set your destination folder.
- Toggle Images on.
- Click Add to Queue.
- When the job completes, your images are in a sub-folder of the destination, named after the project.
What format are the images?
JPG by default — small files, suitable for slide decks and web use. We're working on a configurable format setting (PNG, WebP) for future updates.
What are the file names like?
Files are named so they sort in shot order, with timecode and shot number in the filename:
0001-00.00.01.jpg
0002-00.00.04.jpg
0003-00.00.07.jpg
…This makes it easy to import them in shot order into other tools.
Do custom thumbnails get used?
Yes. Whatever thumbnail you've selected with the Frame Selector tool is the image that gets exported. If you haven't set a custom thumbnail, the first frame of the shot is used.
Do visual effects get applied?
Yes. If you have Black & White or Boost Contrast on in the editor, the exported images will match.
Are hidden shots excluded?
Yes — only currently visible shots are exported.
What resolution are the images?
Images are exported at the source video's resolution. If your source is 4K, the images are 4K. If it's 1080p, they're 1080p.
Can I export images for only my favorites?
Yes. Turn on the ♥ Favorites filter in the editor before opening Export. Only favorited shots will be visible and exported.
